ITV confirms June launch date for Encore paid-for drama channel
ITV has announced that ITV Encore, the new paid-for channel dedicated to contemporary British ITV drama, is to launch on Monday 9 June.
In addition to screening some of ITV’s most successful series of recent years, the channel will also air original commissions.
ITV Encore branding will be produced in-house by ITV Creative, with details of schedule and broadcast hours to be confirmed closer to the launch.
The channel, which will be ITV’s first new channel launch in eight years, is part of the company’s plans to grow its non-advertising revenues.
