Bookmaker Coral has launched Coral Connect – a contactless wallet card that can be used with gaming machines and over the counter.

The Coral Connect is launched following a successful pilot scheme in January, with users able to take out up to £500 in cash in-shop, and no bank account required to sign up for the card.

Money won will be transferred onto the card immediately, as opposed to having to wait three days for money to come through via a debit card.

Olly Raeburn, marketing director for Coral said: “Our customers want choice and Coral Connect delivers this across all channels – in-shop, online and mobile.

“The card allows faster and more flexible access to cash, but can give customers use of, say a shop win, to bet on-line back home with us – and we see this as being particularly useful during the World Cup with kick off times fairly evenly split before and after shops close for the night.”

Coral will also be able to step in if a customer starts to exhibit unusual behaviour on a card.

The bookmaker has also suggested that down the line, there will be incentives to reward use.
