Facebook has appointed Mark Hamilton as head of marketing communications for the Central Eastern Europe Middle East Africa (CEEMEA) region, where he will be responsible for B2B marketing efforts.

As the company looks to grow its regional operations, Hamilton - formerly a client managing director at the Starcom Mediavest Group, MENA - will also be a senior partner to the sales leads in each market.

He said of his appointment: “Millions of people across CEEMEA use Facebook every day to connect and share with people and brands that interest them. The scale of both the reach and engagement on Facebook means that businesses can be better in an open and connected world.

“Having strongly believed in that, my new role at Facebook will give me the opportunity to drive the creation of marketing communications for all Facebook marketing products across our agency and brand advertiser customer base in CEEMEA.”

Jonathan Labin, head of Facebook for Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, said that Hamilton will “develop thought leadership strategies, marketing models, and award winning capabilities designed to enhance the industry’s understanding of social and online marketing” in his new role.
