This week it emerged that Twitter is considering getting rid of hashtags. So our Tight Briefs challenge for today is quite simply: Save the hashtag.

To take part, send your posters, ad scamps or any other images to illustrate how you would mobilise a campaign to tightbriefs@thedrum.com by midnight tonight.

If you're new to Tight Briefs, here's what you've missed. Every Friday for the last four weeks we've been setting our readers a topical advertising or design brief which they have the remainder of that day to dream up a response to.

All the entries then go to a public vote, and the winners from each week get shortlisted in a special Tight Briefs category at this year's Chip Shop Awards.

So how would you save the hashtag? Spread your ideas on Twitter using the hashtags #tightbriefs and #savethehashtag (original, we know). But to make sure all your ideas appear on thedrum.com for the public vote on Monday be sure to email them as individual JPG files to tightbriefs@thedrum.com today.
