Match.com has launched a series of social events, which look to bring members of the public together through a range of activity based events which aim to bring people together through a shared interest, from dog socialising, to cooking or medieval banqueting.

The first event, Bark in the Park, will see dog-lovers meet in Battersea Park on 5 April.

Adverts with details of the event are being placed around London’s Battersea Park, with separate posters at eye-level for both owners and their dogs. To help attract extra canine attention, with the dog-level posters scented with a ‘beefy dog food’ aroma.

Jeremy Corenbloom, marketing director at match.com, comments: “Member insight tells us that taking part in activities which involve a shared interest can be a great ice-breaker when meeting new people. A significant number of our members own dogs so it made sense to create a launch event for our match.com socials programme which is focused around a shared interest singles are passionate about.”

At the £5 event, attendees will be invited to mingle and enjoy complimentary refreshments while their dogs get involved with activity sessions and a pooch soft play area. The entry fees will be given to the Dog's Trust.
