Thomson furthers 'designed for you' proposition partnering with Jonathan Saunders

Following on from its collaboration with milliner Philip Treacy holiday company Thomson has joined forces with fashion designer Jonathan Saunders to create a limited edition range of beach wear and beach bags for men and women.

In addition to creating the bespoke range Saunders, who has dressed royalty and A-list stars such as the Duchess of Cambridge, Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyoncé, has also designed and accessorised the pool area of Thomson’s latest five-stat Sensatori Resort in Jamaica opening 1 May 2014.

Saunders signature style prints and colours feature in the chic range of beach bags and sarongs for women and a casual bag for men. The sarong is available in four colour palettes, featuring a mixture of bold, bright and subtle tones inspired by Jamaican scenery.

The beach bag also comes in four colour combinations and reference Saunders famous graphic print dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge on the Jubilee Tour. A grey, blue and white casual bag featuring both a long strap and short handles has been designed for male holiday makers.

Of the designs Saunders said: “The backdrop to the new Sensatori Resort Jamaica was the starting point and the inspiration for designing the beachwear and the Amber pool area in the hotel - sun, sea, sand, colours and relaxation. Choosing the colour palette to run through the Thomson designs was the first thing I did, combining bold Jamaican brights with relaxing earthy tones and the idea of a repeated graphic taken from a dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge worked perfectly for the beach bags.”

“For the pool and beach area, this was my first interior design project and I drew on my experience of studying design, fashion and textiles to create a relaxing area for guests to make their holiday unique and help them unwind in the sun.”

Jeremy Ellis, marketing and digital director at Thomson added: “We are very proud of the collaboration between Thomson and Jonathan Saunders and hope that the striking beachwear and pool area designed by him will add to the luxury experience for guests visiting the Sensatori Resort Jamaica. This partnership is part of our ongoing collaborations with top designers to highlight Thomson’s ‘holidays designed for you’ proposition.”

The luxury accessories will be given to guests at the resort when it opens in May, for those unable to visit the new Sensatori a limited edition range will also be available for purchase in selected Thomson shops across the UK.
