Guinness World Records name Sohu IT as ‘Record-breaking Brand’ at Festival of Media Asia

Guinness World Records has named Sohu IT as the winner of its inaugural ‘Record-breaking Brand’ award at the Festival of Media Asia Pacific, thanks to a media campaign documenting their Largest Smartphone ensemble record attempt in support of the Vivo XPlay smartphone launch.

The award was introduced by organisers specifically to recognise brands that harness Guinness World Records achievements in their media campaigns.

Rowan Simons, president of Guinness World Records in China said ‘Sohu’s achievement truly showcases an innovative, fun, clever and engaging way of using record breaking at the heart of a campaign to facilitate and amplify their message. Congratulations to them!”

Charlie Crowe, chairman & editor in chief of C Squared Group, added: “The introduction of the Record-Breaking Brand Award to this year’s Festival of Media Asia Pacific has been incredibly well received amongst record breaking brands and their fans around the world driving engagement through the public votes for the best campaign. Sohu IT received over 4,000 public votes from a shortlist of 14 to net the honour, seeing off competition from the likes of P&G, Fiji Airways & Philips AVENT.

The Festival of Media will this year headed by Kevin Bacon who was called upon to discuss the growth of his own personal brand in recent years.The Global Festival of Mediawill take place in Rome on 6-8 April.
