PR consultancy Lansons has appointed Russell Graham, previously Santander’s group communications manager (social and digital), to join its team.

In his new role of head of digital and social media, Graham will lead and develop its digital and social media team, which currently provides consultancy and implementation across its current client base, as well as running a number of stand-alone digital and social media projects.

He said of his appointment: “I’m very excited to be joining Lansons; the opportunity to grow a robust, creative digital practice for one of the most respected agencies in the UK and within financial services was too good an offer to refuse.

“Businesses in these areas, whether they are financial services or not, need a thoughtful approach to digital and social, working with an agency that understands their business and the issues that surround them. I’ve run a highly complex digital strategy for one of the largest brands in the world and experienced this first hand. It's this knowledge and experience that I aim to bring to Lansons."

At Santander, Graham led the bank's UK Social Media Committee, supervised the integration of digital into all customer and media facing department, and introduced a social listening strategy.
