James Villa Holidays has revealed that, in January 2014, it recorded the highest ever monthly affiliate sales in its nine year history.

Ending 104 per cent up year-on-year, the increase in revenue follows a comprehensive affiliate campaign review from digital media agency 7thingsmedia.

After consolidating three tracking platforms into one, 7thingsmedia set about hosting exclusive events for the travel company’s publishers and implementing individual year round content incentive plans for each key publisher. This approach reaped rewards for the villa holiday specialist with revenue from its top 10 publishers increasing by 117 per cent while revenue from content websites overall increased by 77 per cent.

Sally Pemble, digital acquisition manager of James Villa Holidays, said: “7thingsmedia put our affiliates at the heart of every activity and their approach has been fully vindicated with a record breaking January.”

David McDermott, performance director at 7thingsmedia, commented: “Our team are thrilled with the results of the campaign. This is the perfect travel case study of a brand and media agency working hand-in-hand to deliver significant results. Over 80 per cent of the traffic via the affiliate channel came from new visitors to the brand which demonstrates the exceptional level of targeting the campaign achieved.”

7thingsmedia is the current holder of the Performance Marketing Awards’ “Best Agency” title. Last year, the agency also lifted the “Best use of PPC” award at the European Search Awards in Barcelona and the “Best use of Affiliate” awards at the DADI Awards.
