The unbreakable bond between mother and son is shown to comical effect in a new promotional film from Paperchase.

Serving to remind us that Mother’s Day is just around the corner - 30 March, in case you still need to pop out for a card - Paperchase’s film features three ‘Lock, stock’ type hard men. Colin, raised the ‘old school way’ in London’s east end, Dave, ex-Army man who now works as a bouncer, and Mark, covered in tattoos with a fine set of gold teeth.

The kind of characters you wouldn’t want to bump into on a dark night.

But all is not as it seems as after they’ve introduced themselves the men are moved to the craft area of a Paperchase store where, surrounded by glue and glitter, they loving craft hand-made cards for their dear old mums.

The final scene sees the men hand over their labour of love, though the response may not be as positive as they’d imagined.

“Mother’s Day is obviously a key time for Paperchase and we want to remind customers that they can buy a card from us that their mum will really appreciate! We’re delighted with the film because it demonstrates both our sense of humour and our focus on creativity,” said Joe Irons, marketing director at Paperchase.

London creative agency Libertine created the film which was directed by Anthony and Patrick Turner through independent production company Offkey Creatives. The video aims to engage and raise awareness amongst Paperchase’s growing social media audience.
