Virgin Atlantic has unveiled an animated inflight film to replace the seminal film created by Nexus almost 12 years ago.

Art & Graft was appointed to the project following a ten-way pitch, and created a six minute video showing a central character weary of inflight safety messages.

The video then changes to different movie genres to illustrate safety messages, taking the character to a car chase and a wild west saloon.

Mike Moloney, founder of Art & Graft, said: “Just as the Virgin passengers are about to set off we wanted to take them on a little journey of our very own. Mirroring the usual apathy toward safety messages we created a surprising and playful series of genre-based film scenes to convey all the necessary information. This approach felt inclusive to everyone and a nice way to pique the interest of all ages onboard.”

The video took over six months to produce.
