Former chairman of the Association of Online Publishers (AOP) Tim Faircliff has been appointed partner of digital consultancy 614 Group.

He will be responsible for driving brand safety and ethical trading solutions for buyers and sellers across the digital marketplace. His remit will also see him oversee sales, customer support, marketing and operations across the UK and Europe.

Prior to his time as chair of the AOP Faircliff was general manager for the Telegraph.co.uk and digital general manager for Thomson Reuters. He was also non-executive director of handbag.com and will continue as a consultant for the AOP.

He will work alongside Julia Smith, former head of IASH, who became partner for the group last year.

“I am thrilled to be part The 614 Group in the UK, and look forward to growing the business and helping our clients navigate the complex decisions they face around their people, processes and technology in this fast moving digital environment,” said Faircliff.

Smith added: “The digital media landscape across Europe is an exciting but also challenging ecosystem of opportunities and choices, and Tim has the perfect skill set to service our clients in this space. The 614 Group is rapidly emerging as the partner of choice for brands seeking to play effectively and successfully in the global interactive marketplace.”

The 614 Group was created to help clients navigate and better understand the complex digital advertising ecosystem, helping train people, choose the right vendors and establish technology partners for clients.
