Following a successful launch of Zip World Bethesda, the longest and fastest zip line in Europe, last March, Zip World has appointed Weber Shandwick Manchester to promote its latest attraction in Llechwedd, Snowdonia.

Weber Shandwick Manchester’s travel and tourism team will deliver an integrated media and social media campaign to drive ticket sales and put Snowdonia on the map as the zip wire capital of the world.

The new activity centre will allow visitors to fly down 10km of wire in teams of four, reaching speeds of up to 60mph, while taking in some of the UK’s most awe-inspiring scenery.

Sean Taylor, Owner at Zip World Snowdonia, said: “The PR activity used to launch Zip World Bethesda last year was instrumental in the phenomenal interest and ongoing success of the attraction. We’re confident that Weber Shandwick Manchester’s knowledge of North Wales’ history and heritage, and immersion in our own brand, will be key to a successful launch and continued relationship.”

Jo Leah, managing director of Weber Shandwick Manchester, added: “Our award-winning campaign for Zip World in 2013 had a real impact on the business, which is exactly the kind of hard-hitting campaign we love to implement. In fact, we have an office full of converted ‘zip-liners’ since we all tested our mettle at the original Zip World during our last away day. We can’t wait to try the next one.”

This latest account win adds to Weber Shandwick’s growing list of clients along the North Wales’ coast, including Colwyn Bay, Destination Conwy, Visit Anglesey, Attractions of Snowdonia and North East Wales.
