A total 76 per cent of fashion followers were heavily engaged on smartphones during London, New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks in September 2013, according to Millennial Media, while UK ‘fashionistas’ were 19 per cent more likely to be on their smart phones than average.

Millennial Media, who partnered with the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), collected the data from the fashion weeks in September 2013 and paired it with a January 2014 survey run by On Device Research.

The survey conducted in January 2014 found that 97 per cent of 'fashionistas' use their mobile devices while shopping in-store, with 29 per cent of that activity relating to price research and comparison,

It was also found that US fashion fans are twice as likely to use Pinterest than UK, France and Italy and that French ‘fashionistas’ are the most likely to use a personal blogging site.
