The Sunday Times has revamped its print product with a fresh design due to be unveiled this weekend.

Refresh: Front covers from the magazine and sections

The redesign is the first major shake-up since 2008 and the refresh will retain many of the elements introduced then but with a “more vibrant feel”.

The paper’s three lifestyle sections – travel, home and driving, and technology – have had their block-coloured mastheads replaced a new logo of lines, and the culture section has been redesigned to give copy and pictures “more room to breathe”.

In addition, the Sunday Times Magazine has been made taller and slimmer and its news masthead is a reworked version of the magazine’s original one.

Eleanor Mills, editorial director of the Sunday Times, said: “This weekend’s design refresh gives each section of the paper a more vibrant, yet elegant feel.

“Our award-winning content deserves a stronger, more inviting visual impact and we have achieved this while offering an easier and clearer read.”

Sunday Times art director Gordon Beckett, former deputy art director Henry Nolan led the refresh, which will see current font Greta replaced with Glosa to create more white space on each page.
