American news organisation CNN has been left red-faced after its Twitter account was hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army, preceding a handful of rogue politically motivated tweets being posted in its name.Amongst the missives to appear were the obligatory ‘Syrian Electronic Army was here’… before launching into a tirade against perceived Western bias in the ongoing civil war. That wasn’t the only headache for the rolling news provider however as its website and blogs were also compromised… leading to ‘breaking news’ stories such as “China dumps all bonds, declares South China Sea closed zone.”A blog post headed “US declares state of national emergency, State department reportedly out of reach", also appeared for a short while. In a statement posted on Twitter six hours ago the organisation conceded that some of its social media accounts had been ‘compromised’ but that they were now ‘secure’.
