The UKIP is providing ample material for satirists on Twitter courtesy of a steady stream of outrageous remarks from its councillors, the latest of which has inspired creation of the @UKipWeather Twitter account.Party bosses have been under the weather since the parody account launched just three days ago, in that time it has swiftly amassed nearly 99k followers.

Launched on Saturday the site picks up on comments attributed to a now suspended UKIP councillor, who suggested that recent flooding could be attributed to the legalisation of gay marriage. That prompted a barrage of ridicule on Twitter as elsewhere and now it has also spawned a spoof UKIP account that has over twice as many followers as the real one.One choice tweet read: “Council gritters are on high alert after a man in Peterborough went into a pub and ordered a glass of white wine."The account is run by 43 year old office worker, Jason Spacey.
