Former Welsh international footballer Robbie Savage will be a roaming reporter at the Brazil 2014 World Cup for online sports retailer after extending a brand partnership.

Savage first signed a 12-month contract with the brand in December 2012 and the partnership will be extended for another 12 months. The brand aims to use his involvement to appeal to its core target audience of 17-25 year olds.

Andy Anson, CEO of Kitbag, said: “Working with Robbie has proved to be a great success; he’s a charismatic character with a superb sense of fun and his credibility as a sports star has helped built its reputation across the sporting industry.”

Savage will take part in PR and social media campaigns as well as events for Kitbag customers. In November last year, Kitbag appointed Tangerine PR to assist in raising the brand’s profile.
