Edwina Currie told to quit Twitter after backlash to suggestions those who use food banks spend all their money on tattoos and can’t cook
Edwina Currie’s husband has asked his wife to ‘stop tweeting and pay him some attention’ after the former Tory MP complained about the number of people who use food banks and “the moment they've got a bit of spare cash they're off getting another tattoo”.Currie made the comments on BBC Radio Stoke, and has since faced an angry response from the public describing her views as ‘stupid’ and ‘crude judgementalism’.She responded to a number of these on social media, before tweeting that her husband had asked her to stop.

@garywalkeruk @sniggiht @thisisamy_ How do we solve people's problems? Not by giving them a can of soup and saying there, there.
