Heat has launched a multi-platform campaign called ‘Heat Makes You Happy’ to help beat the January blues.

This campaign is set to run across print, online, radio and TV from today, and will also see the Bauer Media owned magazine start a petition to make ‘Blue Monday’ – 20 January - a public holiday in 2015 whilst launching a competition called ‘Insta-gran’ to find the happiest gran in the UK.

This year’s ‘Blue Monday’ will also see special activity including ‘kitten cam’ – a live stream into Battersea Dogs and Cats Home where readers can watch cute cats and even adopt one afterwards.

Richard Howard, publisher of Heat, commented: “Everybody knows that January can be a tough month, but at heat we pride ourselves on being able to cheer our audience up and make them laugh. This campaign is the perfect antidote to the January blues and we hope our consumers will back our crusade to make ‘Blue Monday’ a public holiday next year, as well as voting in our ‘Insta-gran’ search!”

Heat magazine will also be running a series of celebrity self-help guides, providing readers with all the tips they need to be as happy as a celebrity, featuring Keith Lemon and Jamie Oliver.
