The NUJ, Bectu and Unite are balloting ITV members on a pay increase offer from the broadcaster of 2.75 per cent.

Offer: ITV has offered a 2.75% pay increase

The offer of 2.75 per cent or £1,000, whichever is higher for staff earning less than £60,000, is lower than the RPI plus three per cent position of the three unions, but the NUJ said the offer was “significant enough” to ballot members.

Sue Harris, NUJ broadcasting organiser, said: “While ITV’s final offer falls short of our original claim (RPI stood at 2.6 per cent in November), we believe that it is significant enough to consult with members.”

In October, the NUJ expressed concerns that ITV did “not bring anything to the table” when pay talks opened. The ballot on the offer from ITV will take place on 3 February.
