Nokia has pulled its Here Maps apps from the Apple App Store, claiming that the recently launched mobile operating system iOS7 was harming the user experience.

The phone company, which has agreed a deal to be acquired by Microsoft, released a statement having removed the app from being available to download through the App Store, which explained its reasoning.

The statement read: “We have made the decision to remove our Here Maps app from the Apple App Store because recent changes to iOS7 harm the user experience.“ It continued to explain that iPhone users would still be able to use the mobile web version however.

In September 2012, Apple’s own maps app when it released iOS7 was the subject of much criticism, which even led to the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, recommending that users download other map apps while the company fixed the problems.
