The Time of the Doctor leads to over 180k tweets, SecondSync finds

Doctor Who was the most tweeted about show on Christmas Day, SecondSync has found, with 183,550 tweets sent during the show, while Love Actually came second, with 148,746 tweets.

EastEnders, Toy Story 3, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Downton Abbey, Michael Jackson’s This Is It, Home Alone 2, Top of the Pops and Michael McIntyre’s Showtime made up the rest of the top ten tweeted about programmes of Christmas Day.

Love Actually led to the most tweets per minute with 18,136, while Doctor Who led to 7,829 tweets per minute; and EastEnders led to 6,188.

Viewing figures for 2013 found that Mrs Brown’s Boys was the most watched show of Christmas Day.
