Listings for computers and tablets shot up 25 per cent on eBay in the UK on Christmas Day, according to the unwanted gift report from eBay and Gumtree.

The report found that eight out of 10 Brits would consider selling an unwanted gift, with the average Brit on £2.4bn of unwanted gifts.

Gumtree has seen iPhone and Playstation (both PS3 and PS4) as top search terms yesterday with nearly half of searches relating to unwanted gifts, while brand new, unwanted iPad Air listings outnumber iPad Mini by four to one.

On top of this, eBay predicts over 100,000 listings today, Boxing Day, while 25,000 listings were made for craft items so far.

Half of all Brits thank the gifter even when they do not like the present, with 10 per cent asking for a receipt and four per cent telling their friend or relative what they think about the present.
