BlackBerry announces £2.68bn loss in Q3 2013
BlackBerry has revealed a $4.4bn (£2.68bn) loss in Q3 of 2013, with its CEO, chief marketing officer and chief operating officer all leaving the company in November.
The company has signed a deal with Foxconn, the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer best known for producing Apple’s iPhone, to develop a new handset.
This comes as the company stopped supplying staff with handsets, and a deal to sell itself to biggest shareholder Fairfax Financial Holdings.
In Q3, BlackBerry sold 1.9 million smartphones, almost half the number sold in Q2.
