Karen Wall to return to Metro as executive director amid other changes to senior management team

Karen Wall has announced her return to the Metro as executive director alongside Grant Woodthorpe has rejoined Metro as trading director.

Their return to the media group comes as part of a number of changes to Metro’s senior management team.

Wall, who first joined Metro in 1999, has spent the past 18 months at Northcliffe Media and prior to that served at Local World where she held a similar role. In returning to Metro she has become responsible for marketing, research, communication and talent at Metro.

Meanwhile, Woodthorpe first joined in 2000 and held roles including trading director and executive director, sales.

Additionally, Matt Teema moved from Immediate Media, where he was managing director of advertising, to DMG Media’s client sales team as commercial director . He is set to join in early January and will work alongside Marcus Rich to continue Metro’s efforts to improve its marketing solutions

Steve Auckland, managing director, Metro said: “I’m thrilled to have both Grant and Karen on board. They are experienced operators who really understand the business, possess excellent people skills and are passionate champions of the brand. I’m really pleased that Matt has a critical role in helping to shape DMG Media’s commercial future.”

Grant and Karen will rejoin the business on 2 January 2014.
