Absolute Radio to host ‘Top Twitter Moments of 2013’ show with Alan Partridge actor, David Schneider
Absolute Radio has brought in David Schneider, of I’m Alan Partridge and The Day Today fame, to host a show rounding up a year on Twitter.
‘The Top 5 Funniest And/Or Most Memorable Twitter Moments of the Year (2013)’ show, co-written by David Levin, will round up the top five comedic Twitter moments of the year and will showcase the Twittersphere’s finest contributions on stories about Luis Suarez, Pope Benedict, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and The Royals.
As well as the live radio feature, an online video version is set to run simultaneously on Absolute Radio’s YouTube channel, all supported by a social media and digital marketing campaign including Promoted Tweets.
The project comes as Absolute Radio looks to build on its comedy credentials, with content director Tony Moorey explaining: "David Schneider and David Levin are two of the strongest voices on what is the fastest growing social network for our audience. Absolute Radio’s Twitter following has grown by 173 per cent over the past 12 months, so what better way to round up the year."
Schneider, who also founded digital content and social media agency That Lot with Levin, added: “Oscars, Baftas, now we have the Top Five Funniest And/OR Most Memorable Twitter Moments of The Years (the TFFAOMMTWOTYers, as they're known). It's been fun putting them together, digging up the funniest tweets of the year and generally finding an excuse for all that time I've wasted on Twitter. I can now tell my family 'It's for a thing I'm doing for Absolute Radio'. Perfect!"
The show will air at 5pm on 20 December. It will also broadcast on New Year’s Eve at 8am, repeated at 4pm and will be available to listen again online at absoluteradio.co.uk.
