The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism has appointed Diffusion as its retained PR agency for the UK and Europe, replacing incumbent agency Juicy Communications.

Appointment: Diffusion will focus on the natural landscape appeal

The appointment followed a competitive pitch process, which Juicy Communications took part in, and the agency will focus its campaigns on positioning the Cayman Islands as a beauty spot with stunning natural and underwater landscapes, and moving away from current perceptions of the islands as primarily a financial services centre.

Don McDougall, regional manager of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, said: “We needed a fresh approach to destination PR from an agency that really understands how to create consumer campaigns that connect with audiences across traditional and social media.”

Daljit Bhurji, global MD of Diffusion, added: “Diffusion has built exceptional relationships with travel and lifestyle influencers and deep expertise working with both travel brands and destinations.

“We can’t wait to put these into action for the Cayman Islands and inspire more holiday makers to experience them.”

As part of its work, Diffusion will build relationships with “key national travel influencers and bloggers” through an ambassador’s programme.
