Micro-blogging service Twitter have taken a look at some of the brands which have made their mark on the service over the past 12 months as it celebrates reaching a 500m tweets per day milestone.Twitter claims that one in every two of its users follow a brand on the platform and in a bid to find out which brands have been most successful the social media site has solicited votes from London-based media agencies for its 2013 Twitter Honours.Winners this year include @ThreeUK for #DancePonyDance, which was named best integrated campaign 2013 for illustrating how a TV campaign could be extrapolated to digital media.@British_Airways meanwhile earned a nod for most innovative campaign thanks to its #RaceThePlane campaign created by BBH London and ZenithOptimedia for racing a new Dreamliner jet against a plane fuelled by tweets.Elsewhere @PaddyPower scooped top honours for best real-time brand courtesy of its support for Ex-NBA star Dennis Rodman’s diplomatic foray to North Korea.@SamsungMobileUK and Starcom MediaVest meanwhile won most engaged brand for their tweet promoting the Samsung Galaxy 4, Drama Shot app (see below) and @adidasUK won the best overall brand award for its extensive use of Twitter; including kicking off a promoted trend for the official #WorldCup ball.
