TBWA/Manchester develops Pixel by Pixel website to drive donations in wake of Typhoon Haiyan
In the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, TBWA/Manchester has created a donation website to help the continuing aid operation that is in place as large areas of the Philippians remain divested in its wake.
The Pixel by Pixel website will aim to visualise the change that is being affected through donations using a picture of the decimated city of Tacloban, which as more donations are received will transform.
In order to achieve the visual change, HTML5 technology and a PHP framework were incorporated into the site, which has also integrated the Just Giving API to allow donations to be made, altering each pixel in the process.
The project has been art directed by Ant Harris, with copy written by Zoe Harris. Creative directros were Gary Fawcett and Lisa Nichols. While Amy Thornley was behind the video production (see above).
