Race team McLaren has celebrated the launch of the McLaren P1 by taking on the infamously challenging Nordschleife in Nürburgring, Germany.

The Nordschleife forms part of the Nürburgring circuit and is widely known to be the most demanding and difficult racing track. Nicknamed ‘The Green Hell’ by three time Formula 1 world champion Jackie Stewart, the circuit has been deemed to challenging for F1 racing.

Joining forces with creative agency VCCP, McLaren has captured its ‘most technologically advanced car ever produced in the UK’ in an online film charting its attempts at joining the exclusive sub-seven minute club.

McLaren chief test driver, Chris Goodwin, who put the car through its paces, described the circuit as “like the rollercoaster from hell”.

Directed by Dan Gifford and set to the soundtrack of ‘Dem Worlds’ sung by artist Emika, the film tries to convey an ethereal quality, bridging the power, beauty and rawness of the moment.
