Go Outdoors has unveiled a winter ad, created by Uber, showing Brits holding on to fond memories of a “glorious summer” caught out by the cold winter weather.

Production of the ad took place on location at Broughton Hall, just outside Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales, and also features the Go Outdoors Scunthorpe store and staff.

Commenting on the new advertisement, Sarah Fretwell, head of marketing at Go Outdoors, said: We’ve focused on an advert that would stand out during the festive period and achieve cut-through by not referencing Christmas – but without losing relevance to winter.

“We all have to face the cold British Winter – whether that’s climbing mountains, riding bikes or simply taking the dog for a walk. We wanted to appeal to a wide audience in a way which everyone could relate to.

“We obviously hope it creates the desired footfall but also hope it demonstrates our personality and humour, with a spirit of fun and adventure.”

Narrated by Brian Blessed, the ad is set to run for two weeks.
