Trinity Mirror’s digital humour and entertainment publishing brand, UsVsTh3m, hit 7m monthly users in November, a 600 per cent increase on September when it recorded its first million users.

Of these visits some 57 per cent were accrued from mobiles or tablets with the remainder arriving via desktops.

A total of 70 per cent of all visits originated from the UK with the average visitor dwelling for 6 minutes, meanwhile just 2 per cent of visitors came via a search engine. A key traffic driver over the month was the Northometer, a game which has now been played more than 3.8m times.

Malcolm Coles, digital product developer at Trinity Mirror said: “This is an amazing achievement by the team to have grown so quickly in such a short space of time and shows the importance of experimentation for publishers. Our next experiment, Ampp3d, producing socially shareable data journalism launches shortly."
