Metro MD Linda Grant announces departure

Linda Grant, managing director of urban media brand Metro, has announced her decision to depart a role she has held for the past three years with immediate effect.

During her tenure Grant has expanded the dmg media owned businesses digital arm with online editions of the freebie paper and re-launch of the Metro.co.uk website; together with the creation of Metro Play, a gaming business.

Kevin Beatty, CEO dmg media, said, “Linda has been instrumental in growing Metro from being a success in print to also being an innovative, market-leading player in digital media. She has made a significant contribution to the success of our wider group, and the talented team and successful business she leaves behind is testament to that. As we undertake an extensive review of dmg media, we will take this opportunity to ensure we build on that success.”

Grant said: “ I am immensely proud of all that we have achieved over the past three years growing digital strength and evolving further our terrific newspaper. I want to build on that and move on to do something different. I wish the team all the very best for the future.”

Previous positions held by Grant include a stint as commercial development director of dmg media and MD of Capital Radio Group’s national commercial division.
