Karmarama has made two key hires in an attempt to boost its global offering.
Having spent the past eight years in various roles at BBH, Richard Powell, has been brought in as managing partner. Powell most recent served as managing partner and head of content at BBH Singapore. He also worked as content director at BBH London between 2005 and 2009.
In addition to Powell, 180 Amsterdam’s Michelle Hopkins has been named head of project management. Hopkins was client services director at 180 Amsterdam before joining Karmarama, working across high-profile accounts including the global Asics account, and the DHL and Qatar Airways accounts.
Ben Bilboul, Group CEO, said of the appointments: "Over the last few years Karmarama has become the home of some of the best talent in the UK. But as we take on more international briefs we've started to look further afield for new hires to help add more diversity to our management team.
“We're thrilled that we've been able to persuade two fantastic individuals to join us from senior positions in great international agencies. It’s an exciting time to be at Karmarama as we start working with more and more international clients and expand our global reach. Amazing hires like Richard and Michelle will help us improve our ability to deliver across any channel and any market.”
The hirings come as the integrated communications agency increased its number of international accounts. It is now hoping to invest in supporting its clients’ brands across international markets.
