Telegraph Media Group appoints Jon Brendsel as group chief information officer

Telegraph Media Group (TMG) has announced the appointment of Jon Brendsel as group chief information officer.

Currently vice president at Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), Brendsel will lead TMG’s Technology team to deliver the technology solutions and platforms needed for TMG to achieve its digital corporate strategy.

He said: “I am truly excited to join one of the most respected brands in the media industry. I was impressed by the vision and commitment of the senior leadership to driving the digital transformation of The Telegraph.”

In his new role, Brendsel will report directly to TMG’s chief executive Murdoch MacLenann, who said: “I am delighted to welcome Jon to TMG. His experience and talent will be a major addition to our senior leadership team as we move forward with the transformation of the business. Jon will be instrumental in leading the technology team forward in delivering our technology strategy which is central to our plans.”

Brendsel will take up his position at TMG in January 2014.
