Turkish Airlines has launched a new programme that will allow start-ups to pitch to investors during the flight.

The ‘Invest On Board’ Platform Sky will kick off next month with 11 start-up ideas, pitched to business class passengers via a short video on the airline’s interactive in-flight entertainment system ‘Planet'. Through this system, powered by Etohum, potential investors will be able to browse video pitches, which will be updated on a monthly basis.

The project will also be online at InvestOnBoard.com, where new start-ups can apply to be included in new video pitch releases.

Several videos have already been uploaded, thus far mainly from Turkey, including one for a games studio and another for an online home decoration site.

Turkish Airlines hopes that the initiative will not only help start-ups but also promote its country's tech industry.
