Lenovo announced actor Ashton Kutcher as a ‘product engineer’ at the company as it launched a new tablet – Yoga.

In the role, Kutcher, who currently stars in US sitcom Two and a Half Men and most recently played Steve Jobs in a biopic, will apparently work with the computer manufacturer’s global engineering teams to develop and market the Yoga line of tablets

He will “provide input and decision-making into design, specifications, software and usage scenarios,” according to a release from the company.

“This partnership with Lenovo brings together my love of technology and design that makes your life better. I can’t wait to dig in and help Lenovo develop future mobile computing products, starting with the Yoga Tablet,” said Kutcher, a co-founder of A-Grade Investments, which has provided venture capital and collaboration for multiple tech companies including Airbnb, Fab, Foursquare, Spotify, Path and Uber..

He continued: “Lenovo is all about innovation and strong leadership. Entrepreneurship is part of their DNA, and I couldn’t ask for a better fit.” Last night he was said to be on his way to company HQ in China as a video was launched showing his "first day on the job" at Lenovo,

Financial terms of the multi-year partnership are not being disclosed, however The Drum reported earlier this year on rumours that Kutcher had signed a $10m deal to front Lenovo’s ads in the US.
