Creative digital indie MediaMonks London hires new MD

MediaMonks London, the independent creative digital production agency, has promoted client services director Astrid van Essen to the role of managing director.

Van Essen, who will take up her role in London on 1 November, has spent the last two years as client services director for the company at its headquarters in Amsterdam.

She replaces Joris Pol, who now acts as MediaMonks International project director, where he has been tasked with coordinating proceedings from MediaMonks' satellite offices in London, New York and Singapore with its creative production teams based in Amsterdam.

MediaMonks CEO Victor Knaap said: "Astrid has been instrumental in forming and nurturing constructive relationships with our agency partners. Her background has meant that they can rely on her to both take care of the process behind digital production and maintain a thoughtful awareness of their goals and expectations, as well as those of their client brands.

"The result is an end product with significantly added value. We’re excited to see her bring these skills to the table of our London operation.”

The appointment follows the company's international expansion which has seen it launch a Singapore office this summer.

MediaMonks works with agencies including AMV/BBDO, BBH, Iris, Mother, Saatchi & Saatchi and Work Club.
