The Drum 30 under 30 women in digital is an annual platform recognising the next generation of digital talent. Over the course of 30 days we will be running interviews with each of the women profiled, to give more insight into their careers so far, professional achievements, and what they see as the next big game changers in digital.Today's profiled individual is Freia Muehlenbein, head of content and online PR, Search Laboratory What is your biggest professional achievement so far?Growing our content and online PR team to where it is today and managing sustained growth while the industry has changed numerous times. If you don't like change and can't grasp and implement it, you won't be able to grow a company in this environment. I have a great team of managers who are enthusiastic about change and strive to always do the right thing which is crucial to achieving success. What is the biggest challenge you've overcome in your career? This would be the same answer actually. Growing a team in a fast-paced industry brings a number of challenges as the role of an 'SEO' changes constantly. Growth can only happen with a strong team, good processes, commitment, and determination to be the best. What's the next game changer in digital?I think the day when everyone will realise that everything we're doing is for the user and no one else will be interesting. The industry is changing more and more towards user centric activities, especially in Off Page SEO. Search engines have, and always will, work towards returning the best results for their users. I think a big game changer will be further penalties and algorithm updates that force those SEO companies out of the market that won't adhere to quality guidelines. What would you like to be remembered for? I want my team to look back on their career at some point in future and feel that someone has helped them to progress and develop professionally. I am lucky because I have people that do exactly that for me and I want every single person in this team to take something inspiring and positive from working at Search Laboratory and the digital marketing industry overall. Who inspires you most professionally or personally?Professionally, the people in my team, especially my team of managers who are the most committed group of people I've ever met. Personally, it would be my parents who already had two kids and their own company when they were my age. What would you be doing if you weren't doing this? When I was in school I wanted to be a social worker, supporting homeless people. I then studied International Events Management and had my first job in the digital marketing industry. So if you mix these up, I would probably organise events for a charity and promote them online? How do you relax? Watching X-Files with my boyfriend. Mulder and Scully have problems to solve that are far beyond mine...who can look back on their career and say that they stood up against an army of super soldiers and the FBI to avoid an alien invasion on earth? Not me. Describe your career to date in five words. A heck of a rideThis series will run for the duration of October. Yesterday's featured individual was Heather Swales, senior digital planner, Stein IAS.
