Impressario, business magnate and newly installed Senator Clive Palmer has announced via Twitter that he is to make a movie about the maiden voyage of his latest project, the Titanic II.He has registered a new business, Palmer Pictures, and said that the movie will be made due to worldwide interest in the venture. He announced the move earlier this morning.“Due to worldwide interest in @titanic_ii I've registered 'Palmer Pictures'. Will look at making a movie about its maiden voyage #titanic,” he tweeted.Last night, more detailed plans for the replica of the doomed liner were revealed. He said that 40,000 people had registered for tickets for the maiden voyage.Aside from the installation of modern lifeboats and a modified stern & rudder, the vessel will be almost identical to the 1912 original. It will differ with the addition of a 400-seat theatre, a casino and air conditioning. However, it will retain the notorious third class accommodations, the majority of whose tenants perished."That'll be where the most fun will be," Palmer said. "For me that's the great adventure. I can sit down there, have some Irish stew, talk to somebody and at night I can get up and do the Irish jig. It'll be a great place to be."The ship is due to sail in 2016.
