Ancestry.co.uk has unveiled a second spot as part of its ‘traveller’ campaign, showing protagonist Samuel Pitcher seeing his ancestors enlist for the war and coal mining.

Created by VCCP, the ad ends with the strapline: ‘Discover your story’ and encourages viewers to find out their own family history.

"With this campaign we wanted to excite and inspire viewers by opening their minds to the discoveries that can be made using Ancestry.co.uk," Samantha Phillips, marketing manager at Ancestry.co.uk said.

"Our members are always telling us that Ancestry is more than just a collection of records. We help people understand their ancestors’ lives and piece together stories to create the fabric of their past. It's these discoveries that ignite the excitement and drive people along the journey of mapping their family tree."

The campaign also featured a TV ad unveiled in August, and is supported by print and online activity.
