The Weather Company has announced the appointment of Nick Morgan as its director of sales for the Asia Pacific region.

Morgan has held senior positions with Dow Jones, the Associated Press and CNN, while more recently focusing on developing weather services for earthTV and Metra Weatherscape.

“In Asia, we’re seeing an ever-accelerating awareness of the impact of weather – ask anyone who was in Singapore this June as Sumatran smog choked the city, or the inhabitants of Manila and Taipei recovering from last month’s floods,” he said.

“Across the continent there is a growing urgency to better understand, present and respond to weather phenomena. Into that mix comes The Weather Company – the industry’s gold standard; it’s the right company, the right time and the right place and I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to The Weather Company’s development in the Asia Pacific.”

As he looks to expand the business into the Asia Pacific region, Morgan will report to Chip Mobley, vice president of the international business division.
