SapientNitro's Nigel Vaz named Individual of the Year and Digerati number one at Dadi Awards

SapientNitro's European managing director Nigel Vaz has been named Individual of the Year at the Dadis, The Drum's award scheme recognising digital excellence.

Vaz earned the honour after being voted number one in our Digerati poll ranking the UK's top 100 digital professionals.

With around 1,000 staff, Vaz has built SapientNitro from a start-up a decade ago into the UK's largest independent agency.

Under his leadership, the agency has won 18 accounts and projects this year including Barclays, Kao and Moët Hennessy Europe helping towards fee income growth of just over £24m.

Known for his robust views on agency independence, Vaz succeeds 2012 winner and WPP chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell in holding the Dadis' highest individual award.

The Drum Digerati will be revealed in full on 25 October when all of the outstanding digital achievers who were voted into the top 100 will be profiled in a special publication
