Chris Shumaker, newly appointed chief marketing officer of Draftfcb, has added former Publicis USA, Merkley and Partners, and Berlin Cameron executive Morgan Shorey to his team.

A graduate of Emory University, Shorey founded The List - seen by many as the go-to source for lead generation in the marketing services industry - in 1994 and went on to work in business development for Publicis before taking up her new post.

On her new strategic business development role, Shorey commented: “I believe Draftfcb has a fascinating story to tell, one that more marketers need to hear, especially with a new leadership team in place."

“I am looking forward to working with Chris yet again to open more doors and to facilitate those conversations – then doing all we can to convert those calls to tangible and robust new business for the agency.”

Chris Shumaker praised Shorey’s track record, stating, “I am thrilled to be working with Morgan again, and to put her in charge of our new business outreach program here at the agency. She is the most sophisticated and effective new business hunter that I know in the business. She has long impressed me with her intellect, tenacity and professionalism, from which Draftfcb will only benefit.”

Shumaker, whose appointment to CMO The Drum reported last week, previously worked with Shorey for two years at Publicis after the pair first met in 2006.
