Scot Safon named chief marketing officer for The Weather Channel

Scot Safon has been appointed executive vice president and chief marketing officer for The Weather Channel

Safon, a former CNN chief marketing officer and HLN executive, has become responsible for all aspects of the networks branding and design, weather presentation and creative services.

“Scot has an almost legendary track record of building brands that people rely on and trust, making him an ideal fit as we grow our network,” said David Clark, president of The Weather Channel. “We couldn't be more excited about the energy and vision he will bring, and we know he will be integral to our future success.”

His appointment is effective 30 September.
