Tennent's have launched a new ‘Thirst Aid’ app, developed by digital agency Realise, to help drinkers make the most of the Scottish sunshine by guiding them to the nearest beer garden.

‘Thirst Aid’ features nearly 700 beer gardens, terraces, courtyards, hotels and sports clubs around the country.

The quirky app geo-locates the user and provides them with a list of the nearest outdoor drinking establishment to enjoy the fleeting Scottish sun.

Jane Cannon, Tennent's Caledonian’s brand marketing manager, said: “There’s nothing better than heading to a beer garden with your mates when the sun is out, as we’ve seen from the huge popularity of outdoor drinking in pubs and hotels over the past few months.

“Finding a nearby pub with an outdoor area is not always easy though and that’s where Thirst Aid can help. Our new app fast-tracks users to the best places to drink outdoors, whether they are close to home, heading out for a post-work drink or in part of the country that they don’t know well.”

The app is free to download at the Tennent's website.
