Ryan Lochte swims across the Hudson River in Combos Snacks stunt

Ryan Lochte, the Olymic medal winning swimmer, leapt into the Hudson River yesterday to deliver Pizzeria Pretzel snacks to people at the Midtown Ferry Terminal in a stunt for Combos Snacks, a Mars North America brand.

The stunt comes as part of a wider push from Combos in experiential activity with the brand now asking fans on social media to come up with their own “epic” ways to eat the snack and submit their ideas using the hashtag #epiccombos.

It has partnered with YouTube filmmakers, Sam Macaroni and Alex Farnham, to select two of these ideas to turn into a feature video.

"When it comes to tasty snacks, we have 'Good Combos' in the bag," said Craig Hall, general manager, Mars Chocolate North America. "The only way to make the snacking experience even better is to explore how people can use our baked, cheese-filled snacks to reach epic heights."
