Design Manchester, an originative two-day festival celebrating creativity, collaboration and inclusivity in the worlds of art, design, illustration, animation and photography, has launched with branding from Empre.

This autumn marks the first annual Design Manchester, working closely with lead sponsors Manchester School of Art to bring inspirational UK and internationally renowned speakers to the city as well as showcase Manchester’s creative community. Based on the theme of longevity a series of talks, interactive workshops and evening events will be held at Manchester Town Hall and venues across the city.

Curated with ambassador Malcolm Garrett, Design Manchester launches with 10 x 10, an exhibition of ten collaborative works on the subject of longevity produced by Manchester artists and designers (a selection are shown below).

Garrett commented: “I am very excited to see a design festival like this become an annual fixture in Manchester. The impact of cultural creativity in all its forms has had such a tangible influence on the fabric of the city in recent decades, and has placed it firmly on the international stage. This year's theme of 'Longevity' is especially appropriate given the ongoing support of the Manchester School of Art, which is after all the UK's oldest and largest regional design school.”
