Somo co-founder Carl Uminski tops The Drum's Mobile Top 50 2013

The Drum’s 2013 Mobile Top 50 has been revealed with Somo co-founder and COO Carl Uminski topping the list.

The poll aims to celebrate the most influential individuals working in mobile marketing in the UK and Uminski was named in first place out of a shortlist of 100, curated by influence and contribution to the sector.

Uminski founded Somo in 2009 alongside Nick Hynes, expanding the London independent agency across San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Singapore and Berlin in a short space of time.

Previously, he was co-founder of Overture Europe and this year was listed by US title Business Insider as one of the most important people in mobile advertising.

“Carl Uminski has always sharpened the cutting edge of mobile marketing,” said Andrew Buckman, chief operating officer, Tradedoubler, when asked for his view on Uminski’s contribution.

Both brands and agencies were represented on the list, which also included Ilicco Elia, head of mobile at LBi, who came in second place, described as “a true visionary” by one industry peer.

In third position came Ben Scott-Robinson, freelance creative director for SapientNitro, with Ian Carrington, Google’s director of mobile EMEA and David Sear, CEO of Weve, taking fourth and fifth places respectively.
